Rainy Mafia Town

Levels change as you progress through the game, and so does the mood of said levels. We decided to do this, because we believe that showing Mafia Town from more angles gives it more depth, makes it more “real” and relatable.

The rain effect is fairly optimized, and if you can run Mafia Town at day, you should also be able to run Mafia Town at night without any problems!

I am impressed. You made this rain effect and a bunch of Trainwreck stuff in one month? All my concerns about the development have been put to rest.
Keep it up! It’s already awe-inspiring, and I’m wriggling with anticipation!

Are there going to be any missions or collectibles specific to whatever weather is going on?

I’ve already said it on YouTube, but: Such nice music! And I love this mood. I love late-evening rains… they’re so peaceful, and they have such a nice smell to them… if I were Hat Kid, I’d forget about my quest for a few hours to find a nice cafe somewhere and cuddle up with a good book! (Of course, all the cafes here belong to the Mafia, but shh. We can pretend for just one night.)

Oh wow. That rain looks really really good. The only possible problem I saw was that the little clouds of dust look really out of place. The rain and atmosphere itself looks beautiful!

Whoever the creative director is, hes a serious video game genius. Throw in a completely underwater level with beautiful ambient underwater music (eg. Dire Dire Docks, Aquatic Ambiance) and i’ll be hooked….well i’m hooked already lol

This looks like it will be extremely resource intensive. I hope that it won’t be. Other than that, this looks amazing.

For some reason I imagined her stopping and giving a cute little sneeze. “damn rain I think I’m catching something…”

“If you can run Mafia Town at day” got me wondering about the current and projected system requirements. My best computer is a bit on the weak side. :<

This looks really good all the same, and I can hardly wait to play it! 😀

I love that this will be in the game, however I agree that the poofs of smoke from walking look out of place

It would be cool if the rain made surfaces more slippery, making platforming a touch harder.
…and turning the sloped sections of a pathway into a makeshift water slide

the music totally reminds me of animal crossing and the fact that the weather changes gives it more of an animal crossing touch. I guess you guys really are hve Nintendo fans! I’m really hoping this comes out for the Wii U!
